SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS (for Kontakt Player & Sound Library)
2.5 GB of free hard disk space.
DVD Drive.
Windows XP, Pentium 4 /Athlon 2.4 GHz or better is recommended.
Mac OS X or higher, To get full functionality of all the programming a G5 is recommended. The Kontakt audio engine is designed to make use of the processing power of your computer's CPU. The powerful and complex algorithms of the Kontakt Player work best on modern and fast CPUs. Please also observe the systems requirements of your host application.
The Kontakt Player needs a soundcard for playing the sounds of Jazz & Big Band. Standard DirectSound, MME or ASIO drivers required; Windows-compatible MIDI hardware if required.
A MIDI interface is required if you are using a MIDI keyboard, another MIDI controller or an external sequencer. The MIDI interface integrated in many sound cards can also be used.
To play an entire big band, we recommend 1 GB of RAM or more. There is a direct correlation between the number of instruments that can be loaded and the amount of available RAM. The more RAM available the better.
Electronic Musician review of GARRITAN Jazz and Big Band"...Jazz and Big Band works best as a whole, providing realistic ensemble parts and solo instruments with a wealth of expressive capabilities. Whether you're arranging for a small fusion band or plotting the next incarnation of the Duke Ellington Orchestra in your bedroom, J&BB is a terrific tool that should find its way into every jazz education program in the country. I recommend it highly."http://emusician.com/sftinstruments/emusic_garritan_jazz_big_band/index.html
MusicTech Magazine review of GARRITAN Jazz & Big Band (Score: 9/10)"...Gary Garritan's pursuit of the ultimate jazz sample library combined with the easy-to-use, but technically proficient Kontakt Player is a perfect example of the term 'music technology'; the technology here providing valuable tools for the creation of music. Surely, that's what music technology is all about? If you're into writing for jazz musicians and big bands, buy a copy of J&BB. You'll not regret the purchase."http://www.musictechmag.co.uk/mtm/download/jazz-big-band
