The Beyerdynamic MC 840 is a large diaphragm studio condenser microphone. It features 5 fixed polar patterns - cardioid, wide cardioid, omnidirectional, hypercardioid and figure-8. The MC 840 has a dual-stage high pass filter at 80Hz and 160Hz, and also a 2 stage pad at -10 & -20dB. Beyer have designed the MC 840 sparing no expense to ensure it has a pristine, accurate and defined frequency response. The MC 840 was inspired by the MC 740, but Beyerdynamic improved the design with a new low noise pre-amp and impedance transformer with no transducer. An ideal microphone to record anything from vocals to orchestras.
