The RODE Stereo VideoMic X is an on-camera condenser microphone that features 2 x small diaphragm mic-capsules permanently configured in an X-Y. The Stereo VideoMic X is extremely well constructed, and has been designed to be used on location on-set in the studio or outdoors. It has good RF rejection, a Rycote Lyre suspension shock mount system built-in, and very useful recording options such as a high-pass filter, 10 or 20dB pad, and can be battery powered. One new and interesting feature is the high-frequency boost. This has been designed to help boost dialogue in the recording.
