The Warm Audio WA-87 Condenser Microphone is a large diaphragm, multi-pattern studio microphone that excels on vocal recording. Despite its’ name, The WA-87 aims NOT to be a replica of the current U87 by Neumann. Warm Audio have delved back in history, to draw inspiration from the earliest design schematics - now nearly 50 years old, to create a microphone similar to the earliest commercially available U87s. The WA-87 incorporates Fairchild FETs, Cinemag output transformer and their own Lens Kondensator k-87 capsule. The WA-87 features a -10dB pad and three fixed polar patterns: cardioid, figure-8 and omnidirectional. It ships with a unique shock mount and wooden case.
