The Sennheiser ME 3 Headmic is a head-worn electret-condenser microphone that works well with wireless systems for presentation, voice, and broadcast work on live stages, in boardrooms, on television, in places of worship, and in other applications.
Clear, understandable speech and vocals are provided by the ME 3's frequency response, which ranges from 50 Hz to 18 kHz. It is also capable of handling loud speech and vocals up to 150 dB without distorting. In particular, when used with loudspeakers and sound reinforcement equipment, the cardioid polar pattern of the microphone picks up less background noise and concentrates audio capture on the speaker, helping to decrease feedback issues.
The mic features a dual-ear design, an integrated headband worn behind the head, and a low visual profile while providing a comfortable, secure fit. The microphone can be used with a wide range of bodypack transmitters and recording equipment that are wired for Sennheiser compatibility and have the ability to supply 10V to power the capsule thanks to its 1.6m cable and 3.5mm locking mini-jack connector. Together with a carry pouch for storage and transportation, a foam windscreen is provided to reduce breathing and plosive sounds.
