Avantone Pro Jetsun Microphone Shockmount
For over half a century, shockmount design has remained largely unchanged. The spider style shockmount, two elastic bands and sixteen contact points all held together in place by tension alone has become the standard used by most manufacturers. Black Lion Audio and Avantone Pro worked together to improve the design while maintaining the resistant properties of the spider shock mount. The Avantone Jetsun shock mount help isolate the microphone from the stand, but the front section is also left open, allowing instruments and windscreens to get several inches closer to the headshell. This design feature allows artists to take advantage of an increased proximity effect, something much more difficult to do with a fully round shock mount.
