STYL_CPMDF8
Type: Desktop Synthesizers
Meet the ‘Beauty & the Beast’ of all filters: the Beauty is the smooth discrete analogue recreation of a 2045 (24 dB/oct) LP filter, and the Beast is the proprietary analogue GEN R-8 (12 dB/oct) filter that can snarl and howl in all modes (LP, BP, HP, NOTCH). We then decided to combine the 2045 Lowpass filter with the Highpass of the GEN R-8 to create three additional filter types, a Bandpass (BP+), a phaser-like Band Reject (BR+) and a very wide Notch filter (NOTCH+), for some truly unique filter sounds.
Both filter channels have all eight filter types and are controlled by two full ADSR envelopes with multiple trigger modes to cater for every need. They can be triggered by a gate signal, by an audio signal threshold, by a manual trigger button and they can even auto-repeat in a loop mode acting as LFOs.
Add to this, two built-in White Noise sources, a Sample & Hold modulation source with its own Slew parameter and a modulatable crunchy PT2399 Delay, and you have a unique filter unit that does so much more than just filter sounds. It’s a sound source in its own right, with noise, self-oscillating delay and filters, it can create anything from a whisper to complete sonic mayhem.
SOUND DESIGN TOOL
The DF-8 is so much more than a dual filter box—it’s a complete sound design tool. Equipped with two white noise sources, a sample-and-hold modulation source with adjustable slew, and a crunchy PT2399 delay with modulation, it serves as a sound source capable of everything from subtle atmospheres to all-out sonic chaos.
Like all CPM units, the DF-8 is designed for portability and flexibility. It features:
Like all of Stylophone’s Compact Portable Modular (CPM) units, it can run on batteries, external PSU or a Eurorack power bus. In addition to a stereo Line Level output It has a stereo phones out socket to listen and monitor over headphones and a compact 2 Watt built-in speaker.
Our innovative enclosure design has side ribs that can be meshed and locked so multiple CPM units can be connected to quickly set up a flexible system. Pair up the CPM DF-8 with a CPM DS-2 and you have all the building blocks of a core analog modular synthesizer system in a compact and portable format.

In Eurorack format, the DF-8 is 42 HP wide and is powered with its 10-pin power connector; it includes stereo out and twelve 3.5mm patch points for each of the two Filter sections and the Envelopes.

Multi-Filter Features:

DF-8 comes with a clip to join two units together (with DS-2, above)
