Pro Tools 2023.3 has arrived!

This version of Pro Tools will deliver qualified native Apple silicon support, launch the new Pro Tools | Sonic Drop content program, deliver the new Pro Tools | PlayCell virtual instrument, and more, including numerous bug fixes and performance improvements.

Qualified native Apple silicon support

The 2023.3 software release brings fully qualified native Apple silicon support to Pro Tools, delivering significant performance improvements to users on M1 and M2 systems. The update also adds two new options to Pro Tools Elastic Audio processing élastique PRO V3 by zplane.development and Celemony Melodyne giving users even more ways to manipulate audio within this powerful environment.

While the Pro Tools 2022.12 release included a limited native Apple silicon Public Beta to give users the opportunity to check out the performance improvements that running Pro Tools natively offers, Pro Tools 2023.3 delivers full native Apple silicon support with all core features supported.

New instrument presets

There are also updates to the Pro Tools | GrooveCell and SynthCell virtual instruments, with 17 new GrooveCell kits to inspire your rhythmic foundations and 30 new SynthCell presets that provide a diverse range of sounds and textures.

Launch of Pro Tools | Sonic Drop content program

Multiplatinum artist and Avid sound designer Matt Lange is bringing a whole world of exclusive sounds to the Pro Tools community with Pro Tools | Sonic Drop. This new monthly program will deliver inspiring new samples, loops, and instrument presets to all Pro Tools subscribers (monthly and annual) and perpetual license holders on an active plan at no additional cost (Pro Tool Intro users do not have access to Sonic Drop content). From traditional instruments and found sounds to content from other artists and industry partners, each “Drop” focuses on a specific theme, giving users an ever-growing collection of sounds. 

New virtual instrument: Pro Tools | PlayCell

Pro Tools | PlayCell is a sample playback instrument that offers Pro Tools users a comprehensive collection of sounds in an easy-to-use interface. Not only does PlayCell ship with an extensive library of instruments, but more will be added regularly as part of the Pro Tools | Sonic Drop program. PlayCell features an intuitive content hierarchy with macro controls optimised for each instrument type, so finding and dialling in the perfect sound is easy. PlayCell will be available to all Pro Tools subscribers (monthly and annual) and perpetual license holders on an active plan at no charge (Pro Tool Intro users do not get PlayCell).

Pro Tools 2023.3 will be available for all Pro Tools customers on an active subscription or perpetual license with current a Software Updates + Support Plan, as well as all Pro Tools Intro users.
