Apogee MKII Thunderbolt 3 card for Symphony

Apogee Symphony I/O Mk II Thunderbolt 3 Option Card is a field-installable upgrade for Apogee Symphony I/O MKII interfaces featuring modern Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) connectivity and compatibility. In addition to the card the package comes complete with a replacement back panel to fit the upgraded USB-C ports. Installation instructions are provided online.

Can I Perform the Upgrade Myself?

Technically, yes. But theres quite a bit involved you should know going into it. For more details check out our full guide, but to give a brief rundown:

To install a Thunderbolt 3 card:

• You must remove both the top panel and rear panel of the unit
• This means unmounting and disconnecting parts and cabling for the power connector, fan, and word clock module
• The rear panel needs to be replaced with a different one to fit the new TB3 module
• Reassembly requires precise fitment — including “flexing” parts into alignment
• One wrong step can leave your interface partially reassembled or inoperable
