This is the G.O.A.T as far as synths go.
There are obviously hundreds of different hardware synths you can purchase with a budget of $3000 no doubt- however, Elektron does something particularly well- they make a product that you can personalize and make your own. Every other brand basically asks you to play their instruments. Elektron instruments play you- with the possibilities that trig locks and fx/cv sequencing this unit offers, I believe the Analog Four MK2 is the best synth for your money.

Elektron Analog Four MKII
I owned the Elektron Analog Four MKI for nine years and thought the upgrade to the MKII unit may not have been worth it for many years, I was so wrong.
The extra features on this synth and the intuitive layout of the UI make using the instrument a real pleasure and I feel deeply connected with it. I would highly recommend the Analog Four MKII to anyone whether you are upgrading from a MKI or have never owned a single peace of Elektron gear. People often say that the Elektron workflow has a steep learning curve but I disagree with that statement because of the way the MKII units are designed and the visual feedback you get from the backlit keys and the larger OLED screen.

Deep synthesis and sequencing
This is my first electron box and am I’m very much enjoying it!
Pros: Very deep synthesis and sequencer - would highly recommend reading the manual a few times and checking out the forum at www.elektronauts.com if like me you’re new to the electron way.
Cons: A few sticky buttons early on but these seem to now function normally after some use.
