You may be happily working on your new PT audio system and everything is solid. Then your computer flashes up a pop up stating "software update is available - do you want to install" You hit Update, and why not, best to keep everything up to date right? Only you find out your DAW won't work any more. We've all been there and it's very frustration and difficult to turn back that update.
To make things worse Mavericks has moved the "turn off software update" to a new, hard to find location. Here's where to find it:
Open System Preferences > App Store, and untick "Automatically check for updates". By doing this, you won't get notified of any update and updates won't be downloaded automatically.
