  • NAMM 2015 - Roland AIRA MX-1 Mix Performer

    January 23, 2015 1 min read

Any way you look at it, the release of the new AIRA MX-1 Mix Performer is pretty cool news. But, for those of us lucky enough to own any of the existing AIRA gear (TR-8, TB-3, VT-3, or System 1), this news should be akin to discovering you have a long lost brother or sister (although arguably the MX-1 could perhaps be viewed as the maternal figure of the family).

    Roland AIRA MX-1

The MX-1 Mix Performer is an 18-Channel Mixer with step-sequenced fx, transport, and tempo control. Designed to be the nucleus or 'nerve center' of your electronic music rig - combining elements of a mixer, control surface, audio interface and a step-based effector.

The MX-1 aims to bring the whole AIRA family together for a DSP fuelled picknic of glitch-filled chaos!  It works as a USB host so you can connect it to all other AIRA units via USB and easily transfer Audio/MIDI in and out directly through the device without needing a computer - great for those in the studio wanting to disconnect themselves from the computer screen, or for performers not wanting to rely on their computer on-stage.

Check out the first look from Sonic State below...exciting!
