Probably one of the biggest surprises of the 2016 NAMM show, was Arturia’s impressive new MaxiBrute keyboard-synthesiser.
In short the MatrixBrute has 3 x analog oscillators - 2 x “Brute” and an additional VCO/LFO oscillator. A unique Steiner-Parker filter, ladder filter and 3 x envelope generators. There are also 5 x analog effects and an array of physical connectors allow for overtly expressive and performable sounds and patches. Such features include a 12 x 12 CV I/O, Sync and Gate I/O, MIDI, audio input, USB, and 2 x expression pedal ports.
One of the most impressive and interesting features, is the giant modulation matrix. The matrix section is a massive 16 x 16 touch-pad controllers with three separate functions; preset selection, sequencer and modulation. However, the fun doesn’t stop there. With the ability to be able to use the matrix as a modulation source, the possibilities and ease of creating extremely unique and expressive sounds of your own are amazing!
Check out the video below for the full run-down from the Arturia stall at the 2016 NAMM show, and stay tuned for updates and expected release dates on the Arturia MatrixBrute!
