Modal Electronics have recently showcased their prototype Eurorack synth modules that come from their phenomenal hybrid and analog synthesizer's, the 002 and 008.
Eurorack format modules are the talk of NAMM 2016. The format has been kicking around for some time now, pioneered by Doepfer in the early 2000's but it has only been the past few years that many small boutique synth manufacturers have started producing for this format and is seems this years it's about to explode.
Modal will release 2 x oscillator modules, and 2 x filter modules for the Eurorack format as early as March 2016. Each oscillator and filter has come from the the 002 and 008 respectively.
First glance at the prototype, the filters have the same Drive and Slope parameters as the keyboard version, and boast an exceptional display screen. Modal also have a new MIDI/CV Utility clock module, enabling DAW integration.
We will keep you updated on any further developments. In the meantime, check out the video below from the 2016 NAMM show!
