The Rode NT6 is a small diaphragm condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern. What makes the NT6 unique, is that it’s pre-amp / powering body is detachable from the microphone capsule itself. This can be extremely useful for miking up acoustic guitars live without drawing attention to the microphone on stage. For location and field recording, the NT6 can prove invaluable as the capsule can be situated where a larger bodied mic wouldn’t fit.
